NBSC FACULTY RESEARCHER SELECTED FOR MINDANAO RESEARCH MENTORING WORKSHOP
The Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) faculty researcher Ms. Leah Mae S. Cuyno was selected as one of 40 participants in the Research Mentoring Workshop for Early- and Mid-Career Researchers, held in Davao City on August 19–21, 2026. Ms. Cuyno was selected from nearly 400 applicants who responded to the call for the mentoring program, which brought together emerging and mid-career researchers from institutions across Mindanao to strengthen research writing, develop publishable manuscripts, and foster scholarly collaboration in peace, governance, and development.
The program was organized by the MSU-IIT Office of Research Dissemination (ORD) in collaboration with the Australian National University Philippines Institute, The British Academy, King’s College London, Mindanao Institute for Peace and Policy Research, and the Asia-Pacific Journal of Social Innovation. Prior to the workshop, participants completed a three-part online writing sprint focused on developing central arguments, strengthening research coherence, and identifying gaps for manuscript revision.
During the three-day workshop, participants engaged in plenary discussions, writing sprints, focused mentoring sessions, and peer feedback on academic writing and research manuscripts. The workshop also featured sessions on journal article structure, positioning research within the literature, qualitative data, research ethics and security, and continuing manuscript development. Through these activities, participants received guidance from experienced scholars and journal editors while working directly on their research manuscripts.
Ms. Cuyno’s participation underscores NBSC’s commitment to strengthening faculty research capacity, advancing scholarly publication, and supporting research that contributes to peace, governance, and development.
